Thank you for visiting! I hope you have had a positive experience visiting Shantae.net and if you are new to the Shantae series, I really hope you will try out at least one game in the series and see what all the fuss is about. Shantae deserves to be recognized as a big video gaming icon. She's awesome, her games are awesome, and she's had things pretty tough for awhile now but has persevered over the years through new fans discovering what her games are all about. It is the aim of this site to see what can be brought to the community of Shantae fans and would-be Shantae fans to help keep this Shantae community growing and see it thrive. The more popular Shantae becomes, the more Shantae games we can expect to see, and trust us, we ALL want that, even if you don't know it yet!

If you enjoy 2D gaming, platformers, beat'em ups, action rpgs, and/or anything Castlevania, Zelda, Metroid or Mega Man, you definitely owe it to yourself to give this series a spin. : )

I also encourage anyone that is interested in submitting new content to the site to feel free to do so by sending me an email at the following address:

SkyeWelse has made video games a healthy(?) part of his everyday balanced diet ever since he first laid googly-eyes on that wonderful happy-go-lucky-8-bit-plumber, with the red cap and blue overalls. Ever since then, his passion has always been about video games, and especially ones that blend classic 8-bit/16-bit style elements or "Retro" elements and expand on them to make them contemporary. He's always had a passion for Nintendo games and their staple series, but has embraced games from all generations and systems.

There are however, certain games that catch his eye more, and if they are not immediately popular enough or mainstream enough, he has on occassion taken up the task of creating some type of website or portal to help unite fans and "would-be" fans and arm them with all the information they could ever want to see in order to logically come to the conlusion that they should be playing said game, right this instant and here's why!

Some of SkyeWelse's past projects were related to the Genso Suikoden series, Panzer Dragoon series, Cave Story (original creator of the Cave Story Tribute Site at www.cavestory.org), Microcabin's Xak series and most recenty, Shantae.

SkyeWelse's favorite games and series are: Panzer Dragoon, Shantae, Super Mario Bros., Mega Man, Zelda, Ys, Brandish, Gitaroo Man, Xak, Xanadu and Demon's Souls/Dark Souls. His favorite games are Genso Suikoden II and Panzer Dragoon Saga.

Tekaramity joined the Internet the day he was born. As he grew into a human adult, Tek developed a robust interest in video game culture. A champion of WayForward since the launch of Sigma Star Saga, Tek finally dove headlong into the Shantae series upon acquiring a very stylish royal purple 3DS. He has since discovered the joy of the Mighty! series also. Tek founded the Shantae fan group on Steam and is eager to promote Shantae across the 'Net and assist the Shantae community in whatever ways he can, much as he did for the MLP: Friendship is Magic community during his year as a part-time blogger at Equestria Daily.

In addition to the Shantae and Mighty! series, Tek enjoys a host of video game series ranging from friendlier fare such as Sonic, Mega Man, and Pokémon to venerable stalwarts such as Shin Megami Tensei, Thief, and Castlevania. His console library stretches back to the days of the Atari 2600, Sega Master System, and original NES. New favorites out of titles he recently sampled include Psychonauts, Cherry Tree High Comedy Club, Rhythm Thief, and Dust: An Elysian Tail. Tek replays Final Fantasy 7 annually and holds steadfastly to an inextinguishable reverence for Dark Souls.
